The Hindu Temple of Charlotte cordially invites you and your family to the Monthly Sri Jagannath Puja, held on every third Sunday of the month at 4:30 PM (ET), followed by Prasad.
The puja begins promptly at 4:30 PM (ET). Pandit Ji will perform the complete Shodasha Upachara (16 traditional offerings) and Archana to Sri Jagannath Ji. The ceremony will include the chanting of Shri Jagannath Astakam, Ashtottara (108 Names), bhajans. The program also features short stories from Jagannath tradition, Kirtan, and concludes with Aarati.
This monthly puja is observed 11 times each year. The puja is not held in the month of Rath Yatra, as the community participates in the grand annual festival during that time. In January, the puja is conducted as a Community Puja, representing the entire community. The remaining 10 monthly pujas are sponsored by members and non-members.
We warmly welcome all devotees to join us in worship and devotion to Sri Jagannath Mahaprabhu.

Monthly puja sponsorships are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you wish to sponsor the puja for a special occasion—such as a birthday, anniversary, or any meaningful milestone—please inform the organizers in advance. The occasion will be announced during the puja. Example: Sponsored for Aryan’s 5th Birthday – August 18.

The temple arranges all essential puja items required for the ceremony.

However, SJSNC humbly requests that sponsors and devotees may bring the following offerings, if they wish: Coconut, Fruits, Flowers for the puja, Bhoga to be offered to Lord Jagannath (to be brought by the sponsor). The Hindu Temple also gladly accepts ghee as an offering.

Sponsors for the Monthly Puja decides the menu for Mahaprasad, served at the end of puja. The sponsor has 2 choices to consider for Mahaprasad.

1. Hindu Center cooks for 125 people, 5 standard items as indicated in the Mahaprasad Menu. However, the menu can be customized by the sponsors at an additional cost. For Example, sponsors can choose a large tray of Paneer to be served. For detailed information on different menu choices and its cost breakup, refer to SJSNC Mahaprasad Menu
