However, SJSNC requests the sponsor(s) and devotees to bring coconut, fruits, flowers required for the Puja. The bhoga that is offered to Lord Jagannath should be brought in by the sponsors.
Hindu Temple gladly accepts Ghee.
All of above are suggestions only, the final decision on what to bring in, is up to the individual sponsor(s) and the devotees.
Please provide the name and gotra information to the organizers, so that priests can be updated ahead of time. Also, knowing the occasion for sponsorship will help.
Sponsors for the Monthly Puja decides the menu for Mahaprasad, served at the end of puja. The sponsor has 2 choices to consider for Mahaprasad.
1. Hindu Center cooks for 125 people, 5 standard items as indicated in the Mahaprasad Menu. However, the menu can be customized by the sponsors at an additional cost. For Example, sponsors can choose a large tray of Paneer to be served. For detailed information on different menu choices and its cost breakup, refer to SJSNC Mahaprasad Menu
2. Sponsor(s) can chose to cook at Hindu center facility, based on a menu chosen by the sponsor(s). The volunteers to cook Mahaprasad and required groceries must be arranged by the sponsor(s).
SJSNC recommends Option 1 , though final decision is that of the sponsor(s).
If you would like a hybrid approach, you can choose Option 1 and decide to cook extra items at Hindu Center. In this case, the sponsor will need to buy the groceries and vegetables and would need to arrange the volunteers.
Volunteers help set up Dining Hall, help to serve food, and to clean-up after dinner.
